Dr. Richard Ernst, Scientist in Residence, lead editor on new book

Dr. Richard Ernst, Scientist in Residence, is the lead editor and chapter author for a new book (21 chapters, 508 pages) just published by the American Geophysical Union on "Large Igneous Provinces: A Driver of Global Environmental and Biotic Changes" (2021)

This book describes the interactions between LIPs and other drivers of climate change, the limits of the LIP effect and the atmospheric and oceanic consequences of LIPs in significant environmental events.
