The Department of Earth Sciences Outreach Program is designed to increase awareness of the Earth sciences and foster Earth Science literacy through school visits and public events. We have a wide range of programs designed to support educators seeking to bring Earth sciences into the classroom.
We can offer the following services and support:
- Discovering Earth Sciences Workshop (DESW): An Interactive Workshop for Teachers
- Visit us! A half day visit to the Department of Earth Sciences at Carleton University
- Visits to your classroom or community group with one of our prepared activities.
- Teaching material loans for educators and geoscience professionals visiting schools.
Other initiatives:
- Earth Science and Sports Summer Camp for 8 - 12-year-olds
- Geoheritage Day
