Michael Cunningham receives award to attend international conference on unmanned aerial systems

Michael with the SkyLance UAV from Stratus Aeronautics Graduate student Michael Cunningham won the “Best Student Paper” award at the annual meeting of Unmanned System Canada in Halifax on 3-5 November 2015 for his expanded abstract, entitled “Detecting mineral ore bodies with UASs (unmanned aerial systems) instrumented with magnetometers“. Co-authors of the abstract are Professor Claire Samson, and Alan Wood, Ian Cook, and Buddy Doyle from Stratus Aeronautics, the industrial sponsor involved in the project. The award will allow Michael to attend the Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) conference in New Orleans in May 2016.
