Two M.Sc. Students Awarded Medals at Convocation

Fall 2014 Convocation was celebrated on Saturday, November 15th. The Department of Earth Sciences put forward a number of students for graduation at both levels. Two Master's students received the additional honour of winning a medal.

Erika Anderson was supervised by Professor Brian Cousens. She won the University Medal for Outstanding Graduate Work (Masters level) for her thesis work on the volcanology and geochemistry of Upsal Hogback volcano, Nevada.

Alana Mackinder was co-supervised by Professor Brian Cousens and Dr. Richard Ernst. She won a Senate Medal for Outstanding Academic Achievement for her thesis on the Gunbarrel large igneous province event in western North America.
